Farhan Akhtar reacts to Don 3 issue, after a messy fallout regarding the highly anticipated film. The controversy began when Ranveer Singh decided to walk out of the third installment of the beloved franchise, even after participating in its initial pre-production work. Following his sudden exit, the producers involved the Producers Guild of India to seek compensation for their financial losses.
Resolving the dispute, Ranveer agreed to pay Rs. 10 crore to Farhan Akhtar and Excel Entertainment. Furthermore, reports indicate he will also offer them a stake in his upcoming movie, tentatively titled Pralaay. The actor's departure was reportedly driven by his reluctance to do back-to-back gangster films following the massive success of his recent project, Dhurandhar. Because of this, he asked director Jai Mehta to advance the shooting schedule for Pralaay.
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter India, Farhan finally broke his silence on the matter. He stated that his biggest lesson from this experience is to always expect the unexpected, noting that nothing is guaranteed until it is actually captured on film. Farhan gracefully took the obstacle in his stride, adding that while his overall filmmaking journey has been incredible, challenging periods are a natural part of the business.
Don franchise became a huge blockbuster with Shah Rukh Khan recreating Amitabh Bachchan's 1978 classic in his own style. Farhan and SRK continued the character with Don 2. They have announced Don 3 long before but SRK changed his mind about playing such negative roles on screen. Also, rumours stated that Don 3 had Amitabh Bachchan and SRK coming together as in a multiverse.
Then, Ranveer Singh came into picture and he opted out post Dhurandhar success and delays in production by Farhan Akhtar. Now, they have settled the issue with conditions stated above.
